Its like someone is trying too hard to do something "MAD" because the public haven't really heard their name reccently. Yes, I think it is art. The action or idea of throwing art away (especially now recycled art is becoming popular and everyone seems to be more aware of our environment) is not a brilliant one but perhaps the colours and shapes they make all thrown in together is and should be regarded as art.

You know Art Counsel, I think I was in the mood for a debate, you are right in as much as Landy could have pushed his whole concept further. It is a relatively mediocre sting and the nearly over exhibition shows this with its still only kinda half full bin. As you say lukewarm. The general artists' response is proof enough, people didn't hate it enough to refuse donating works completely and weren't swept away enough to overflow the thing.

I was excited by the potential but I think my real reasons for playing devil's advocate was how much your blog riled me because it was such a forceful rant. You know on Sunday I got invited to the gallery to celebrate the end "of such a well received exhibition" for champagne all courtesy of Louis Vuitton, the sponsors of the exhibition, well they kept that quiet until now! mmmm smells like the mob got in on this
