b-shots: Graffiti is the New "Cool"

// November 27th, 2009 // b-street // b-uncut

I think it is safe to say that East London is brimming with cutting edge street art, all you have to do is look around:

These shots were taken on Bethnal Green Road, here is another wall piece from the same street!

    Mr. Omneo I really enjoyed the articles--especially the one about Dora. Because these Graffiti artists take themselves and what they create seriously, so will the general public. There is a BIG difference between someone scribbling nonsense on a public wall and what these people do. They are making our public spaces more beautiful, even if it might be considered "vandalism."

  • Street artists have certainly taken up the challenge to show that their work really is 'art' and not just some kids spray-painting because they're bored.

    I read 2 interviews recently with Dora, a street artist from Bristol (http://thefourohfive.com/artic... and Juice126 who describes himself as a 'metallic abstract aerosol artist' from Birmingham (http://thefourohfive.com/artic... Both I think challenge quite well that dated perception of the street artist. Here's to lots of more diversity, now where's my tin of spray paint?! ;-)
