b-uncut tours - Rome

Le Marche

Bounded by the Adriatic to the east and the Appenine Mountains to the west, Le Marche is a beautiful region with a host of small medieval villages, monasteries, castles and abbeys, many of which contain magnificent works of art.

This tour focuses on two areas: Urbino and the Montefeltro country to the north and Ascoli Piceno to the south. In the north we will visit Urbino, Urbania, Fossombrone and the dramatic fortress of S. Leo. This was the area of the Montefeltro Family who were able to give their citizens peace and culture for half a century. To the south, down the coast, Ascoli Piceno, a beautiful medieval town, is surrounded by abbeys and monastic buildings set in mystical natural paths. A full day will be spent immersed in the enchanting nature and centres of the Sibillini Mountains.

The tour has to be extended to five nights due to the flight times which do not allow for an evening return.
